Hello – I am a 80 yr. old male, with an 11 year old Serta Perfect Sleeper
Fiberblock mattress for a full size bed. I do have neck and shoulder/upper
back issues at times. My Chiropractor mentioned that I might need a new
mattress, but at the time I did not know when I bought the mattress. It is
old of course & I am the only one who uses it. I am wondering if I should

Honestly I cannot say anything for sure about your situation as I don’t know exactly about your health and your mattress. The mattress is 11 years that is already enough for an average mattress.
I think that the best thing you can do now is to ask someone (with better experience) to help you check the mattress. If it’s too bad you should buy a new mattress. If it’s still ok, you can think of buying a mattress topper, a memory foam topper can help in these cases.

Hello, we just traded in our 15 year old typical box-spring mattress for a foam Amerisleep mattress. My husband is satisfied with it, but I feel it is to firm; although it seems to support my weight comfortably. I am looking for a topper to give it more of that soft, plush feel I am use to. Hello, I have been doing a ton of research on mattress toppers that will help alleviate my lower back problems. I have degenerative disc disease whereby my discs are slowly deteriorating but it takes years for this to happen so it sounds worse than it is, speaking for myself that is. I just bought a king size “Casper” mattress, semi-firm as firm seems to feel better than a soft mattress. However, for the past few months I have been waking up throughout the night and then as early as 3:45am with lower back pain.
